How do I scan a receipt?
Open the app, select or create a folder, then tap the scan button. Point your camera at the receipt – multi-page scanning is supported for long receipts.
What data is extracted automatically?
Receipt uses Apple's Vision framework to automatically extract merchant name, transaction date, total amount, and individual line items from your receipts.
Can I edit the extracted data?
Yes! You can manually edit the merchant name, total amount, currency, date, and exchange rate for any receipt. Edited fields are marked with a visual indicator.
What currencies are supported?
Receipt supports 7 currencies: USD, EUR, GBP, RUB, ILS, GEL, and BYN. The app automatically detects currencies from receipt text, and you can add custom currencies with your own exchange rates.
How do I export my receipts?
You can export as combined PDF (all receipts in one document) or CSV (spreadsheet with extracted data including merchant, date, total, currency, and comments). Perfect for expense reports!
Can I share receipts from other apps?
Yes! Use the iOS Share Extension to send PDFs and images from Files, Mail, Safari, or Photos directly to Receipt.
How does search work?
Search finds receipts by folder name, receipt name, comments, merchant name, or any text from the receipt (OCR). Case-insensitive and very fast.
Does Receipt work offline?
Yes! Everything works completely offline. No internet connection is required to scan, organize, search, or export receipts.
Where are my receipts stored?
All your receipts are stored locally on your device as PDFs. We never upload your data to any server or cloud service.
Can I add notes to receipts?
Yes! Add comments by typing or using dictation. Great for adding context like "Client dinner" or "Hotel 3 nights".
