FAQ

How do I scan a receipt?
Open the app, select or create a folder, then tap scan. Point your camera at the receipt — multi‑page scanning is supported for long receipts.
What data is extracted automatically?
Receipt uses Apple’s Vision framework to extract merchant name, date, total amount, and line items (depending on receipt quality).
Can I edit the extracted data?
Yes. You can edit merchant, total, currency, date, and exchange rate. Edited fields are visually marked.
What currencies are supported?
Receipt supports 7 currencies: USD, EUR, GBP, RUB, ILS, GEL, and BYN. Currency can be detected from text; you can also add custom currencies with your own exchange rates.
How do I export my receipts?
Export a combined PDF (all receipts together) and/or a CSV with extracted fields (merchant, date, total, currency, comments) — great for expense reports.
Can I share receipts from other apps?
Yes. Use the iOS Share Extension to send PDFs and images from Files, Mail, Safari, or Photos directly to Receipt.
Does Receipt work offline?
Yes. Scanning, organizing, searching, and exporting all work offline. No servers, no accounts.
Where are my receipts stored?
Locally on your device as PDFs. We never upload your receipts to any server or cloud service.
Can I add notes to receipts?
Yes. Add comments by typing or dictation — perfect for context like “Client dinner” or “Hotel • 3 nights”.
